Maybe you’ve already seen Genio Italiano’s handmade copper glass markers.
But did you think how I made it? That is, in which way I make that item out of copper wire and sheet?
For a start, I cut the copper wire. I use pincers, since it is 1.5 mm thick.
Remember that copper gets harder and harder to be bend as more you work it, so I must avoid to bend it unless it is strictly necessary.
Then I shape the wire.
I like curled shapes, that look like a G clef.
Secondly, I make small roses, with copper sheet and wire. I make them a bit more sparkling by adding a glass central. I glue them and let them dry.
Shaping petals is a delicate operation.
Here there two roses at different level of the shaping process.
Now I only have to join rose to the wire. I have to be careful not to move the wire in order to avoid it to get tougher.
And finally I make the 0.5 mm copper sheet plate to show copper handmade glass markers on your cupboard!
The set is composed by 6 rose decorated glass markers and 6 curls decorated glass markers. You can find them on all my online shops!
